Springs nonprofits receive portion of $53,000 grant
Seven Colorado nonprofits, including three in Colorado Springs, were awarded $53,000 in grant funds from the Larry H. Miller Charities this year.
Nonprofits slated to receive funding from the grants include The Home Front Cares, TESSA and Catholic Charities, all based in the Springs, according to a Tuesday news release.
“Larry H. Miller Dealerships is honored to support each of these outstanding organizations that provide beneficial, life-changing programs and services in the communities where we work and live,” said Ray Reilly, senior vice president of operations for Colorado, in the release.
The charitable organization, which is a branch of Larry H. Miller Dealerships (vehicles and repair), has donated more than $260,000 to more than 70 nonprofits in Colorado since the program began in 1996.
The funding will help TESSA operate its Safehouse program and Catholic Charities run its Life Connections’ Safe & Secure Kidz project and the Marian House Soup Kitchen, according to the release. The release said Home Front Cares will use the funds to provide emergency aid to Colorado military members, veterans and their families.
Other recipients, according to the release, include Attention Homes and Second Wind Fund, both based in Boulder, as well as the Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver.
