The all-new 2015 Sienna

Toyota is always releasing new and updates vehicles from their great lineup. Here at Larry H. Miller Toyota Colorado Springs, we always do our best to keep you up-to-date with those releases. In 2015, the all-new Camry will be coming out, but guess what other Toyota vehicle will be getting a facelift? The Sienna! Here are some of the new features on the 2015 Toyota Sienna from Auto Media:

“The newest features on the 2015 Toyota Sienna include an optional color multi-information display screen, daytime running lights, and a pull down mirror that allows the driver to check on the passengers without turning around. Safety is the name of the game for minivans, and the 2015 Toyota Sienna knows how to play that game.”

Want to read some of the other things that are being said about the Sienna? Here’s what an article in USA Today said about the Sienna:

“Kibo Kitahama, a Toyota national marketing and communications manager, says the new Sienna will certainly fit the bill. One delight: the Driver Easy Speak system, also found on the Highlander crossover, that allows parents behind the wheel to talk through a microphone while they are driving so they don't have to yell at their kids in the third row. Kitahama says it's an important safety feature because the driver no longer has turn around to shout.”

Toyota Unveiled the Sienna completely online, too! Don’t forget to check back in with us, as we’ll be sure to give you updates for when the all-new 2015 Sienna will be coming to our store. Larry H. Miller ColoradoSprings, we are driven by you!

It’s just important to check them often!!!

Tips for your car care for Spring

Guess what?! April is car care month and we want to make sure that your car is in the best position for Spring.
At Larry H. Miller Toyota of Colorado Springs, put together these car care tips for you to notice as Spring approaches. The best time to get your vehicle checked is to have us conduct a multi-point inspection for your vehicle in our service department. Here are some other items to notice and check in case you can make it in:
  • All fluids: Your engine oil, power steering fluids, brake, transmission as well as windshield washer fluid, and the antifreeze coolant.
  • Battery Life: along with making sure there is no acid build-up on the car battery. Also, look at the cables connected to them to make sure they're in good help.
  • Schedule a Spring tune-up: This will always help with your car's performance.
  • Air Conditioner: The summer is coming fast, make sure you're prepared with a well working AC.
  • Tires: This includes tire pressure and the tread tread. Keep in mind that uneven wear on the tires in an indication that you need an alignment. Tires should also be checked for bulges and bald spots.
  • Hoses and belts to make sure they are not cracked, brittle, frayed, loose or showing signs of excessive wear.
  • Wipers: You'll want to make sure your wipers cleanly wipe away water for the most optimal viewing out of your car's window.
  • External Lighting: Break lights and head lights.
  • Brakes: Normally, you should have these checked at your oil changes, but when breaking while driving, check to see if everything feels right as well.

The reliability of a Toyota. -Larry H. Miller Toyota Colorado Springs

The owner of this Rav4 was hit from behind at 60mph, causing six flips and then ultimately hitting a light pole. She walked away with a small scratch on her elbow. The EMTs wanted to take her to the hospital and her response was, “I’m good. Can you guys drop me off at Larry H. Miller Toyota Colorado Springs? My gap insurance will cover this fender bender."

Three lessons here:

#1 Toyota makes one of the safest vehicles on the road.

#2 Gap Insurance is the best insurance on the planet.

#3 The EMT knew exactly where to drive her because of our Military and First Responder appreciation days.

Safety is Toyota's number one focus as the same goes for us. Thank goodness this customer was relatively unharmed with her accident.

Winter driving tips from Larry H. Miller Toyota Colorado Springs

The weather outside always eventually gets frightful here in Denver and in Colorado Springs. This can create treacherous driving conditions, even for the experienced snow driver. So for those of you who have to brave this winter wonderland, the Toyota Colorado Springs team put together some helpful tips for driving in winter conditions.
First of all, it's important that you keep a few items in your vehicle in case you need them:
  • Ice scraper
  • Tire chains
  • Small shovel or ice pick
  • Water supply
  • A flashlight
  • Gloves, coats and blankets
  • Signal devices, such as a flare
One thing that will make a tremendous impact on your ability to grip the road in slippery conditions is your tires. Snow tires should be applied to your vehicle to help you get the maximum amount of traction. It's also important to keep your tires properly inflated. Remember, your tires are the only part of the vehicle that touches the road!
Here are a few driving tips that will also help you stay out of trouble in icy and snowy conditions:
  • Slow down! This might seem obvious, but your ability to stop and stay in control depends upon your speed.
  • Brake gently and leave plenty of room. If your wheels lock up, or you feel your vehicle sliding when attempting to stop, pump your brakes--don't stand on them.
  • Steer in the direction you want your front end to go. If your rear wheels slide left, gently turn the wheel left. If your rear wheels slide right, gently turn to the right to gain control.
  • 4WD or AWD vehicles perform much better in the snow than other vehicles.
  • Don't panic! If you feel your vehicle start to slide, don't try to over-correct the situation. Pump your brakes and use gentle maneuvering to steer the vehicle.
We wish you all a safe and happy 2014! Plan ahead and be careful out there!
