The RAV4 to go Hybrid
Toyota already has a few hybrid versions in its model lineup, but that won't stop the automaker from adding a hybrid version of one of its best-selling vehicles. For 2016, the Toyota RAV4 will be offered in a hybrid edition--exciting, huh?
Toyota plans to have hybrid editions across its entire model line, but the RAV4 is the latest to receive the update. Currently, the Camry, Avalon, Prius and Highlander all offer hybrid editions.
Be sure to stay tuned for more updates as they are released. The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is expected to make its debut at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, which runs from April 3rd to 12th.

Lease or Buy?
We all know that when we walk into a car dealership, we have the option to purchase a car or to lease one. But what's the difference? What should you do? Leasing will save you money on your monthly payments. Purchasing will turn your car payments into an investment. Both the options to lease and purchase have their advantages and disadvantages, but what will work best for you? We're here to help give you a brief explanation, that way you can make a better-informed decision during your next car dealership experience.
Leasing:
When you lease a vehicle, you're essentially renting the car. You make your monthly payments, and you are able to continue driving your ride. Lease payments are lower than the payments on a vehicle purchase, since you are not moving toward owning the vehicle outright. A typical term for a lease is 36 months.
At the end of the lease term, you have a few options:
- You can turn the car in, and find a new vehicle.
- You can sell the car, and perhaps make some money.
- You can turn the lease into a purchase, and begin making monthly payments.
One should be careful about the amount of driving they do with a leased vehicle. Leases come with a mileage agreement. While the standard amount of annual miles allowed for a lease is 12,000, you are able to take a higher mile allowance for an increased monthly payment. Be careful, because if you have more miles on the odometer than the agreed upon amount, you will be charged by the mile--usually a steep price that you'll want to avoid.
The most common route consumers who lease their vehicle takes is to turn the car in and find a new vehicle. In some circumstances, you'll find that the value of the vehicle is higher than the residual value given at the time of the lease agreement. Residual value is the amount a car is projected to be worth at the end of the leasing term. When the actual value of the car is higher than the residual, you can sell the vehicle for the higher price and make the difference between the selling price and the residual. For example: if you have a residual value of $16,750, but are able to sell the car for $18,500, you just made yourself $1,750. Cars that have an easy time holding their values are promising for drivers looking to make this extra cash. And if you really like the vehicle and would like to continue to drive it, you can begin to make monthly payments toward the residual value.
Leasing a vehicle can be a great option for people who are looking to save some money and like to switch vehicles often. Every three years, you can park a new, shiny vehicle in your driveway. But keep in mind, the payments you are making aren't working toward paying off a vehicle you will own. If this seems like a fitting option for you, come visit us and we'll help you get started!
Purchasing:
There are a couple of ways to purchase a vehicle. You can pay cash, up front, and have no monthly payments. This is the cheapest way to buy a car, if you have the money to lay out. You will avoid any interest fees, and become an instant owner. If you don't have the money to lay out, you can finance a new vehicle. When you finance, you will make monthly payments until the balance of the car is paid in full. The average loan for a car is 60 months, although 72 months is becoming more popular. The less months you finance a vehicle, the lower the payment... and vice versa. Your finance rate will be dependent upon your credit score.
Those looking to get into a vehicle they intend to keep for years on end will find that purchasing a car is a better route than leasing. If you like to switch vehicle often, it may be wise for you to think about leasing, so you can avoid the possibility of losing money on your investment. If this seems like a fitting option for you, again, you can come visit us and we'll help you get started!

Larry H. Miller Toyota Colorado Springs--Springs nonprofits receive portion of $53,000 grant
Springs nonprofits receive portion of $53,000 grant
Seven Colorado nonprofits, including three in Colorado Springs, were awarded $53,000 in grant funds from the Larry H. Miller Charities this year.
Nonprofits slated to receive funding from the grants include The Home Front Cares, TESSA and Catholic Charities, all based in the Springs, according to a Tuesday news release.
“Larry H. Miller Dealerships is honored to support each of these outstanding organizations that provide beneficial, life-changing programs and services in the communities where we work and live,” said Ray Reilly, senior vice president of operations for Colorado, in the release.
The charitable organization, which is a branch of Larry H. Miller Dealerships (vehicles and repair), has donated more than $260,000 to more than 70 nonprofits in Colorado since the program began in 1996.
The funding will help TESSA operate its Safehouse program and Catholic Charities run its Life Connections’ Safe & Secure Kidz project and the Marian House Soup Kitchen, according to the release. The release said Home Front Cares will use the funds to provide emergency aid to Colorado military members, veterans and their families.
Other recipients, according to the release, include Attention Homes and Second Wind Fund, both based in Boulder, as well as the Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver.

Here Comes the Toyota FCV
Toyota is taking the lead with Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles.
Recently, Toyota announced the concept called the FCV, which will be debuting
at the upcoming LA Auto show. A vehicle like this shows the innovation and
drive that Toyota has to making vehicles that are more geared towards the
future, and vehicles that are Eco-friendly to the environment. Toyota was the
first with the Prius and
now it’s time to take the next step with FCV. As always, you can count on Larry H. Miller Toyota Colorado Springs
to bring you any and all news related to Toyota.
Here’s what ALEXANDER
STOKLOSA from Car and Driver had to say about the release of Toyota’s
fuel-cell concept.
“…Toyota has been
vocal about readying a new hydrogen-fueled vehicle for 2015, and after recently
revealing some details about the car…”
“Hydrogen cars need to carry a lot of gear, including a hydrogen fuel tank, the fuel-cell stacks that convert the hydrogen to electricity, and an electric motor for propulsion. Toyota placed the fuel-cell stacks underneath the front seats, the main hydrogen tank under the rears, and even shoehorned a second fuel tank into the lower trunk area.”

The all-new 2015 Sienna
Toyota is always releasing new and updates vehicles from
their great lineup. Here at Larry H. Miller Toyota Colorado Springs, we always
do our best to keep you up-to-date with those releases. In 2015, the all-new
Camry will be coming out, but guess what other Toyota vehicle will be getting a
facelift? The Sienna! Here are some of the new features on the 2015 Toyota
Sienna from Auto Media:
“The newest features
on the 2015 Toyota Sienna include an optional color multi-information display
screen, daytime running lights, and a pull down mirror that allows the driver
to check on the passengers without turning around. Safety is the name of the
game for minivans, and the 2015 Toyota Sienna knows how to play that
game.”
Want to read some of the other things that are being said
about the Sienna? Here’s what an article in USA Today said about the Sienna:
“Kibo Kitahama, a
Toyota national marketing and communications manager, says the new Sienna will
certainly fit the bill. One delight: the Driver Easy Speak system, also found
on the Highlander crossover, that allows parents behind the wheel to talk
through a microphone while they are driving so they don't have to yell at their
kids in the third row. Kitahama says it's an important safety feature because
the driver no longer has turn around to shout.”
Toyota Unveiled the Sienna completely online, too! Don’t
forget to check back in with us, as we’ll be sure to give you updates for when
the all-new 2015 Sienna will be coming to our store. Larry H. Miller ColoradoSprings, we are driven by you!
